Maya Cochrane’s interests lie in the ephemeral and transitory. This is explored using materials such as ice and ink, which have been used to create a series of ice drawings. In these drawings warm ink has worn away at the surface of the ice and penetrated the ice to form various spatial typologies. The inspiration for these drawings came from research into the ritual of the Inuit boy’s first hunt.
